Chua Enlai is an award-winning actor and host known for his dramatic and comedic work across theatre, television and film. Enlai is fresh off the latest season of CNA’s award-winning documentary series on artificial intelligence, Becoming Human (which received a Gold in the Science & Technology category at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards 2020). The series so far spans four seasons and broadcasts globally. It can be viewed online on CNA here. Other recent work include the Channel 8 series Rookies’ Kitchen (上蔡乐).
Enlai has performed in over 50 theatre productions and was most recently the Queen in Wild Rice’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, earning him a Best Actor nomination at the Straits Times Life Theatre Awards 2024. Awards include Best Actor at the DBS Life! Theatre Awards for Shopping & F***ing and Best Supporting Actor at the ST Life! Theatre Awards for The Importance of Being Earnest.
On television, Enlai is perhaps best known for the nine seasons of the International Emmy-nominated The Noose, for which he’s won the Asian Television Award for Best Comedy Performance in 2010 and 2013. Live television hosting credits include the annual President’s Star Charity, Lunar New Year’s Eve Special, National Day Parade and the New Year’s Eve Countdown shows.
