Simon Seow is IFPI’s Regional Director for Southeast Asia, representing the recorded music industry in this region. He specialised in intellectual property (IP) in legal practice before moving into venture capital. Prior to joining IFPI, he led the IP policy work of the Singapore government. Key projects included the review of Singapore’s copyright regime, IP dispute resolution system, registered designs regime and IP policy in relation to public health. He also headed the Registry of Patents, Designs and Plant Varieties, and was extensively involved in international negotiations. Simon was awarded the Public Administration Medal by the President in the 2013 National Day Awards.
